Awards & Reviews

River Estate has been producing top quality olive oil since 1999. The oils were not previously entered in any competitions as the customers reputably advised them that River Estate were some of the best oils they had tasted. Most of the years stock also sold out within the year it was produced, so there was no urgency to showcase to the rest of New Zealand.

In 2006 River Estate entered the Royal New Zealand Show for the New Zealand Gourmet Oil Competition to bench mark their olive oils against other New Zealand olive oils.
A Bronze medal was awarded for the River Estate Chemlali olive oil.

Buoyed by this success River Estate now regularly submits a selection for the New Zealand Gourmet Oil Competition. Our customers have come to expect the Awards now.

In 2008 two oils were selected for the OlivesNZ Awards, which is run by OlivesNZ. This competition is very competitive amongst the recognised olive growers in New Zealand. Success was achieved with Silver Medals to our Tuscan blend and Chemlali.
